Privacy & tracking detection
Beacon Beagle
Find out if you're being tracked. Beacon Beagle passively scans for wearable cameras, surveillance cameras, and Bluetooth trackers - all on-device, with nothing scanned or uploaded to a server. This app does not connect to or work with pentesting tools like Flipper Zero, Pineapple, or similar hardware.
Free, passive detection
- Wearable camera & smart glasses detection (BLE): flags Ray-Ban Meta, GoPro, Spectacles, and similar wearables by advertised name or manufacturer ID.
- Surveillance/ALPR camera detection (BLE + Wi-Fi): flags known Flock Safety/Axon signatures and Flock hotspot SSIDs. MAC-based signals only work on Android.
- Device integrity checks (Android/iOS): jailbreak/root indicators and a review of apps with Device Admin access.
Advanced Detection — one-time fee
A single one-time purchase unlocks a deeper set of detectors: generic Bluetooth (BLE) beacon scanning that flags a beacon reappearing in a different Wi-Fi environment or after being gone 5+ minutes, consumer tracker detection (AirTag, Tile, Samsung SmartTag, Chipolo), Wi-Fi environment fingerprinting, and ultrasonic commercial beacon detection using the microphone.
Cellular anomaly detection (experimental)
Heuristic Stingray/IMSI-catcher detection inspired by EFF's Rayhunter. Unlike Rayhunter, this does not read baseband/QMDL diagnostic logs (that requires root and specialized hardware) — it flags observable red flags instead, and all flags are estimates only. Capability is platform-dependent:
- Android: built on TelephonyManager/CellInfo — flags forced 2G downgrades, conflicting tower identities, unfamiliar towers with unusually strong signal, foreign PLMNs, and rapid cell hopping.
- iOS: built on CTTelephonyNetworkInfo.serviceCurrentRadioAccessTechnology — Apple exposes no cell tower identity, MCC/MNC, or signal strength on any iOS version, so only the forced 2G downgrade heuristic is possible here.
Location for Detection (opt-in)
Turning on the opt-in Location for Detection permission unlocks two more detectors: GPS/GNSS spoofing and jamming detection (Android only, due to Apple hardware limits) using satellite-count drops, CN0 degradation, AGC anomalies, and implausible position jumps; and flagging when the serving cell tower changes while the device is essentially stationary.
Audio-based detection
- Audio steganography detection: LSB, MFSK, spectral modulation, and phase inversion techniques.
- Acoustic communication detection: flags nearby ultrasonic/audible data transmissions (ex: ggwave-style protocols) without decoding their payload.
Privacy & security tools
- App Lock: a PIN gate shown on launch/resume. A separate duress PIN unlocks identically to the normal PIN while silently wiping all app data in the background, so entering it under coercion looks like a normal unlock.
- RAM-Only Mode: disables all disk persistence for the session, so a restart leaves no trace of what was detected.
- Secure Data Wipe: on-demand wipe of all app data and settings back to a fresh-install state.
- Scheduled Data Wipe: automatic wipe on a configurable interval, for a "leave no history older than N days" baseline even without manual action.
- Auto-Save: writes the detection log to the app's own storage folder automatically when monitoring stops.

Privacy & data use
All detection is on-device. Nothing is scanned or uploaded to a server just by using Beacon Beagle.
The only data sent off-device is opt-in: submitting a bug report from the in-app feedback button sends device info (screen size, platform, locale, brightness, orientation — no IMEI, serial, advertising ID, or IP), a diagnostic log, and your typed message, end-to-end encrypted before it leaves the device. You can optionally attach a screenshot to that same report.
Location is used live on the Radar screen and reverse-geocoded on-device only, and turns off automatically when you leave that screen. If the Radar screen's Location toggle and Settings > Location for Detection are both on, new detections include location in their own metadata, saved locally if the session is saved — this is never transmitted unless you manually paste it into a bug report or share an export yourself. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
Availability
Beacon Beagle is currently in development for Android and iOS mobile devices. As a small, independent company, availability and features may change over time.
